Seks lande OL-debuterer i Rio

I alt seks lande kommer til at debutere ved de Olympiske og Paralympiske Lege 2016 i Rio de Janeiro, når de deltager i ridesportsdisciplinerne springning, dressur, military og paradressur

Fem nationale olympiske komiteer vil for første gang at sende ryttere til de Olympiske Lege, når OL 2016 afvikles i brasilianske Rio de Janeiro i august måned - nemlig Kinesiske Taipei og Qatar i springning, Den Dominikanske Republik og Palæstina i dressur samt Zimbabwe i military, mens Uruguay vil sende paradressurryttere til PL for første gang.

Rio 2016 er det første OL og PL nogensinde, der bliver afholdt i Sydamerika, og intet færre end ni sydamerikanske lande vil deltage i ridesporten i Rio 2016, hvor Peru for første har kvalificeret sig individuelt i springning.

I alt har 43 lande kvalificeret til sig til de Olympiske Lege 2016 i Rio de Janeiro i ridesportens tre discipliner, dressur, military og springning, mens 30 lande konkurrerer ved de Paralympiske Lege, der kan fejre 20 års jubilæum.

- Vi er meget fornøjede med at kunne byde nye lande velkommen til den olympiske og paralympiske familie og til at have 43 flag ved Rio 2016, udtaler FEI's formand Ingmar De Vos.

Ridesporten ved Rio 2016 går i gang allerede dagen efter åbningsceremonien den 6. august i Deodoro, hvor verdens førende ekvipage vil kæmpe om holdmedaljerne i dressur, military og springning.

Den 11. september starter paradressuren, og her garanteres den hidtil største fejring af ryttere med et handicap. I graderne Ia, Ib, II, III og IV vil de konkurrere om individuelle medaljer såvel som holdmedaljer.
